Jeff Timpe: Composer/ Musician

These pieces of music were composed for a wonderful music theatre production entitled "Fields Far Away". Fields Far Away is a place that exists in all of us where our creativity and dreams are believed in and pursued freely and without fear. When the dream is sincere and from the heart, this secret place demands that we listen to its hidden call , disregard our fears, and make the necessary attempts to explore its reality. No compromises, and no guarantees. It then becomes our opportunity to explore and receive new hidden wonders of life. Living changing and experiencing...as children in the universe of our own imaginations.

When one writes music there will always be those to suggest that we compromise a bit, write something that will get air play, a popular tune, adjust your inspirations for the masses. Usually these people are referring to the trends of the times, and with all their good intentions, one may find their suggestions offer less of what we wish to explore. Although there is one point that seems to be inviting; the idea of appealing to the masses. Not to just a few, not to just the current trend, but to the majority. Maybe there is something, someplace, somewhere, that we all share. Something beyond our divisions, our race, our wealth. A vision from a mountain top, that gives a broader and more unifying perspective to our existence in the valley below. These are the places I seek in my personal "Fields Far Away". See you there!
