Joey Backenstoe

Hello!
I am Joey Backenstoe. I was happy to join Jeff Timpe in this effort to create a work of music that was a bit out of the ordinary and called for my talents in both acoustic and electric guitar applications.

Jeff and I share great admiration to one of musics most influential guitar masters, Steve Howe of the progressive rock group YES. This is the type sound that Jeff was looking for in a few of the tracks and he felt my admirations would make me the suitable candidate for that progressive style of playing. I was very happy to oblige his request.

I have performed extensively in music groups and various projects throughout my life. My most recent recording project is called "Blue Shift" and like Fields Far Away also features vocal talents of Stewart Merrideth . I have always loved the visual atmospheres that progressive rock makes available through the listeners imagination. Progressive music is like painting pictures in the mind , but with sound.
