Kenneth Sterling Nelson
Kenny got an early interest in music when listening to older brother Lance playing his music all the time.
Kenny joined the Catholic school chorus and began his singing career. While in the 4th grade Kenny's life was changed by rock and roll.... he loved the sound of Elton John and Bachmann Turner Overdrive and brought Elton's song, Saturday Night's All Right For Fightin' in to sing for the class. This song was deemed inappropriate by the Nun and it did not go over well at all.
When Kenny was a freshman in high school his musician friends asked him to sing in their band. As he got more exposure and solo experience with his band, he began performing solos in his high school chorus and also began performing pop-rock duets with fellow chorus members.
At about this time, Kenny's major musical influences were Paul Rogers and John Waitt. After high school he performed with several different bands: Paralex, BVC (Blue Velvet Conspiracy) and ---(get name of band from Dave Robison) with friend Dave Robison. Dave introduced Kenny to the Antelope Valley College commercial music program "Test Flight". With other aspiring musicians Kenny performed in many pop-rock and rock and roll concerts at the college as well as out in the community Sr. Citizen centers, United Cerebral Palsy in Chatsworth, CA, the six flaggs Magic Mountain in Valencia, CA, toured Hawaii and opened the World Film Festival-Jan. 1995 in San Diego, CA honoring Mickey Roonie's life-time achievements!!
Kenny now sings with a local classic-rock cover band known as "Blind Date". "Blind Date" just recently opened the 1996 Antelope Valley Fair for "The Guess Who" and is gathering a tremendous following in the Antelope Valley.
Kenny has considered working in theater... and was very excited to be a part of "Fields Far Away". He would like to begin performing original material and hook up with like-minded ambitious people who together develop their own ideas to realize their dreams while he reaches for his "Fields Far Away".
