Dave's plans were compromised at the dinner table. His parents conveyed the idea was "cute" but not practical. This upsets David and he storms out of the house. Hope finds him in their secret spot, sitting on the roots of the Oak "Old Sam."
David rants on about what was said at the dinner table. His worst fears are surfacing as he wants to hold on to the moments and company that he treasures in this meadow.
He is determined not to let the blind dictate his reality. He has "seen it" inside his mind and he believes with all of his heart that they can realize whatever they choose. To David, what is born in the mind is not fantasy, but rather a vision destined to manifest.
