Hope reassures David that she will remain by his side. She picks up a box that they have hidden under a large root of Old Sam. She pulls out a candle which she lights and places on the extended root between them.
They sit cross legged, facing each other, as if they have done this a thousand times. They close their eyes, extend the palms of their hands towards each other, finger tips delicately fluttering between touching and parting.
It would seem that this bond is deeper than anything would dare come between. This place is where they share their playful visions, and now they share their fears and sorrows; in this moment the universe is still, the stars are silent yet ever present. In this moment, they know, without doubt, how important it is to share; hearts wide open.
