SONG ELEVEN "Remember"
windows audio
I still remember a time in forever where all my doubts and fears surrender to believe in a world that only your eyes see. Though change may come, and winds may blow and wipe our dreams away ....still you may find them true within the sunlight of a brighter day.
HOPE: David...What is truth to you ?
DAVID: Hmm...that 's a good one. Truth, I guess it would be what IS, rather than what is Not! I mean, truth would be like talking to God who if I ever get the chance to him, I'm sure he'll be truthful.
HOPE: ok..
DAVID: Well, but then again, truth to me...it could also be like a conversation with myself. I mean I'd have to be telling the truth because then I'd be in there and I'd know if I wasn't... What's so funny?
HOPE: Oh just you...you haven't changed a bit.
DAVID: Well I guess I've just believed in allot of things in my life that didn't turn out to be quite so true.
HOPE: You see that star up there?...call it an understanding of truth. Ancient people worshiped it. Sailors guided ships by it. To many it's been a solid point of reference; fixed, and true for an eternity.
DAVID: It was the truth for their needs
HOPE: Exactly...and still is...but to one who has willed himself towards truth, its beauty lies beyond what he sees. Its dimensions unfold like an ever opening flower. That star isn't in a fixed position. It's moving, it's even in a cycle of birth & death ...soon he believes it's anything but finite.
DAVID: ...so even truth may change?
HOPE: but isn't it wonderful to see truth unfold before your very eyes? You know, when the storm came..for me, it was more than just wind and thunder...it was the time my father left us.
DAVID: We didn't know...why weren't you around ...I think we just thought you gave up.
HOPE: I remember the Rose in the sky...It was important. But I was lost..
DAVID: It was a sign.. A sign of assurance. Somehow I knew none of us would ever forget...This is amazing. I can't believe all the memories that are just flooding back.
HOPE: It was all to bring us here ...now.
DAVID: I remember the dreams we shared. Little girl in a garden so long ago. And when I see you standing there, it takes me back into the skies together; our secret of life forever. Could this be just another childish venture or could I hope that this will last forever true?
HOPE: I remember the dreams we shared. Little boy in a Heaven oh so alone. And when I finally found you there, all was lost or though I thought forever...
TOGETHER: Fly away / find our dreams together
High away / where only skies remember
Fly away / return to Fields forever
far away so we can find forever true.
Jesse and family have gone home, meanwhile David and Hope find themselves together under the Oak "Old Sam" once again for the first time in twenty years.
After such a long period of non-interaction, David and Hope are surprised to discover that their careers are going to cross paths. It's as if destiny is playing another card and bringing them together.
In conversation they discover that they are both assigned to highly influential positions within a large land development project called the Black Plains Project. Dave is part of an Architectural design team, and Hope is part of a government diplomatic relations team that is designed to oversee relations between the development corporations and the surrounding native communities.
The discussion becomes nostalgic, philosophical, magical and assuring.
David recalls a childhood secret hiding spot under one of the roots of Old Sam. He curiously investigates and digs far enough to reveal a container that he placed there many years ago. To their amazement, the container holds a rose. They are left with wonder as the rose is found preserved; fresh and fragrant as if recently plucked.
